Guru Siyag’s Siddha Yoga
Unlimited healing, siddhis, self-realizationArchive for philosophy
_anything_ you do with you body is effect!
I tell you, once you realize that Siddha Yoga is really a spiritual practice, then you really connect in. Anything that you do during the practice, such as moving the eyes, furrowing the brow… any of that had a SPIRITUAL ORIGIN. This practice, when done in the SPIRITUAL realm (3rd eye) with your SPIRITUAL self (truth body) really fills you up with bliss.
I live in a tossed salad
American has been called a melting pot or tossed salad. But whatever it is, the bottom line is that a melange of cultures come together here to create what we have.
Now, when I took initiation from Guru Siyag, I was throwing in the towel on spirituality. I had spent 20 years ambling about with no clear idea of what spirituality was about and what I was supposed to be doing. I had not spent just time, but MONEY and EMOTIONAL SECURITY. I was a big, paranoid, confused person whose pockets were being drained by any group with a halfway good pickup line about what the Purpose of Life is.
And my hat is off the the Church of Scientology, because I really thought I had found home. Ron answered _all_ my questions with amazing integrative vision. And there was a local church. With cute babes. And no end to courses to talk.
Now, I ended up leaving them, and I am realizing that Hinduism has everything that Scientology has in terms of abilities and awareness. And further Guru Siyag offers it all for free.
So, to repeat, once I took initiation from Guru Siyag my attitude was: this is the last spiritual system I get involved with. I will not spend another single dime on any more workshops. And if this doesnt work, then I become a porn star and to hell with spirituality.
So what is interesting is that my former spiritual pursuits are making a comeback, but more to inform my superficial layers and keep them aligned with higher truth.
Cases in point:
Relaxation Bench
I recently bought a relaxation bench. Pradeep criticized me for this, saying that I was taking over where Shakti should be handling things. I bought it anyway and it has helped me tremendously.
The American Book of the Dead
I bought a copy of this recently. I like it’s explanation of the things that assault the Being when it is without a body.
Handbook for Preclears
L. Ron Hubbard is my #1 favorite spiritual person. A true giant. Awesome in every sense of the word. He never admitted it, but he basically presented the Vedas to the West in a way that was appealing to them.
Reichian Therapy
Jack is great Reichian Therapist. .. or rather, I love his book and I love one exercise he put in their which is key to me being a realized being.
He’s a dilettante y’all
That’s right, the major attraction of Guru Siyag’s Siddha Yoga is that it is minimalist. But slowly but surely, I am forming my own way with and around the practice to meet that goal of Self-realization.
Diletanttante to the max, like gag me with a spoon. YOW!
Silent mantra – your pathway to the God realm
Sound is the coarsest expression of The God That You Are. With each repetition of the empowered Secret Mantra, you strengthen the connection between flesh and spirit, becoming more spirit and less flesh.
Since you are eternally Spirit and only temporarily flesh, this is A Good Thing!
“Who are you?” — the biggest trick question there could be.
When someone asks “who are you”" they are trying to pin you down – force you to limit yourself to something that is nothing more than a consideration.
They are trying to squeeze you into an idea, a space-time point.
Dont fall for it! It’s a trap!
Actually dont call it a trap, a trap is set intentionally. The person deluded enough to ask, is in need of help themselves.
On Siddhis
Siddhis are a hot topic for some spiritual seekers. They were for me for a long time. In this post, we read the words of Zui on this subject:
The ultimate aim of Guru Siyag's Siddha Yoga, as mentioned on his website www.the-comforter.org, is the spiritual upliftment of mankind. With this lofty goal in sight, Guru Siyag speaks of the enlightenment and complete evolution of the final three stages of consciousness (also known as "Kosha" in sanskrit): Anand (Bliss), Chit (Becoming) and Sat (Being). The Siddhis that you mention lie below these three levels. Though many of Guru Siyag's disciples, including me, acquire Siddhis, we DO NOT become attached to them. This means that we do not try to hold on to them and make an exhibition of these powers. Guru Siyag warns us that doing so would hinder our progress. By becoming attached to a Siddhi, we would limit ourselves only to that particular state of consciousness and not evolve further. He suggests that these are just mere reminders of the immense and eternal energy and light that we are. On the path of realization we discover many precious stones. But if we get attached to only one stone we will never be able to discover the vast treasure that lies ahead. On his part, Guru Siyag too, does not exhibit his Siddhis. So to answer your question: Yes, I do have Siddhis. I have been practicing Guru Siyag's Siddha Yoga (which awakens the Kundalini) for the past 8 years. Here, I would like to add that though I have Siddhis, I NEVER make use of them. Certain Siddhis manifest themselves involuntarily by the Supreme Shakti's command. I, as an individual, do not have a play in it.
My perspective
I have no siddhis as of yet. But I sure am ready to run my mouth on the subject:
I think Guru Siyag hints at his power. If you look at his 15-year record of healing incurable diseases, it is a sign of tremendous power. From what I understand, you could goto India and meet some students who demonstrate some common siddhis. However, all attempts to record levitation have resulted in the camera failing. I have asked many groups about Siddhis in my spiritual search. Some dont have them and try to downplay it. These are the weak groups who are not tapped into unlimited power. Others are tapped in but mis-use them. Others (like our system) have them but have goals beyond the limited life span of this body. I think Siddhis are wonderful way to show that you are truly on a powerful path and I am glad that my colleagues in this system have them. But at the same time, I think the mission of this group is a great and useful one. And dont forget the last thing Zui said: this path is one of surrender, not will. We are turning this body over to higher powers for it to use as it sees fit.
“sakti is always running the show
Even in a false yoga, a historically deviant yoga, “sakti is running the show.
I dont know what the truth is yet…
But I am fairly sure it is not comparative. Comparison and evaluation are mental actions — manomaya kosha. Truth is instantaneous… at least so I *think* — hahahaa.
Comparing Swami Nithyananda and Guru Siyag
Just before choosing Guru Siyag as my spiritual father, I was involved with Swami Nithyananda. The chart below compares the two and shows why I ended up choosing Guru Siyag:
| Guru Siyag | Nithyananda | |
|---|---|---|
| kosha | 7 – the 5 of Nithyananda plus Sat and Chit | 5 – annamaya, pranamaya, manomaya, vigyanamaya, anandamaya |
| education | 1 internal book | 100s of discourses on dvd, cd, and book. tons of stuff for the manomaya kosha and no deeper. |
| methods and techniques | 1 method to cover everything – healing, siddhis, enlightenment |
|
| cost | Absolutely free | Weekend workshops start at 250 for Level 1 and 300 for Level 2. Not clear on further levels. Those who want special attention should donate 10% of their income (the Ananda Smargi program). Sells lots of books, cds, dvd, mala beads |
| dress style | whatever is comfortable | traditional Indian dress. taking an Indian name is also recommended |
| place of worship | anywhere – even a taxi! | traditional Hindu temple |
| Willpower and decision making | None, submit to the Mother Force (Kundalini). Any yogic postures, mudras occur automatically | You can choose what methods you want. You focus attention on the chakras. You manually assume various yoga postures and mudras |
Swami Nithyananda is not a bad guy. I just had a choice to make and went with Guru Siyag. I can say that I am much happier in 1 month of practicing this than I was with 1 month of practicing that.
Guru Siyag’s system is very simple. There is only 1 meditation to cover _anything_ you might want. The external teaching is limited to the brief lecture he gives before initiation. There is no cost. Nithyananda is offering the Walmart of spirituality. Tons of meditations. Lots of external teaching. And plenty to buy!
