So many fixed ideas… how can you really see?

I was meditating at Zui’s place on Labor Day and at one point there was a staircase and this green egg starting rolling down it. And as the egg rolled, its sides sort of popped up.

What could this vision mean? It’s simple: alternative reality. Alternative intelligences/lifeforms are all beyond your reach for one reason and one reason only: you have fixed ideas about what is and how things should be.

YOu know everything. QUit playing games

You enjoy acting as if spiritual practice should take a long time and be difficult and yield little results. And the profiteers out there would like to fool you into thinking this is so.

When you get spiritual experience, you back away, deny it. Try to play dumb.

You like being worried, nervous, needy. Any denial of the truth creates mystery and games for you to play.

You will do anything to avoid the stark naked truth of aloneness and complete control.

the 3rd eye – it’s higher than you think

both literally and physically.

so you should be up where the horizontal lines are ideally.

Like a stick in a puddle

If the stick makes a motion in any direction, you get muddy water and it takes some time to clear. Likewise in meditation, any worrying, fidgeting, evaluation, etc all muddy the water – and the only way to clear it is to remain absolutely still.

This was already discussed earlier but with too much technical mumbo-jumbo.

Your urge creates everything

Bruce Avenelle had a different way of expressing this. He said that attitude affects whether a plane goes up or down. It’s the same thing in this meditation. You basically have to have the ‘right’ intention. I remember when Patricia asked me: ‘what do you want’ and the answer I gave without any planning was ‘totality’.

And lo and behold Guru Siyag has realized this totality.  And so he can pass it on to us.

This meditation only requires going to your deepest deepest intention. And not pushing and demanding but receiving.

The best concentration exercise

It’s interesting how you have to learn from everyone. Personally, I left my work with Sankara Saranam fairly unimpressed with him and some of his derogatory remarks. Nonetheless, he once sent me an email which is solid gold. He said, the

The best concentration exercise is ‘I will concentrate just for this moment’

This works very well.

Another important thing is to do the mantra and then receive. Dont go to grab something that you want – just receive. The Guru is there to give you exactly what you want at your deepest level. RECEIVE IT. Dont make demands about what you think you want. If you knew what was good for you, you would not have taken the time to come to a guru for guidance..

Meditation, Quantum Chemistry, and Chinese Finger Traps

Meditation is completely unlike anything else you do. Everything else you do is goal-oriented: you do it to get something out of it.

It’s therefore appropriate to say that meditation is just like a Chinese Finger Trap.

Chinese Finger Trap

A Chinese Finger Trap is a device that tightens on you the harder you try to get out of it. Likewise, if you are unhappy with your current results in meditation, the instinctive response is to fuss and fidget. But doing so only allows the trap to tighten on you more and more.

Look at this description of how to get out of a Chinese Finger Trap:

The trick to escaping the finger trap is to relax, push the ends of the trap inward, toward the middle, thereby enlarging the openings.

And believe it or not, the same thing applies to meditation. The more you try to do. And even the more you try to do not-doing, you dig yourself a deeper and deeper hole!

Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle

Realization cannot be snatched in meditation. The Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle is a Quantum Chemistry concept, but we can illustrate the idea with something simple. Let’s say that a spider is afraid of light, but you want to find it. The second you turn on the light, the spider runs out of the light… therefore the more light you cast in order to find the spider, the more the spider runs away!

Fighting with your current state in meditation will fail the same way. Each time you try to improve things, the spider that you want sees the light you are casting and makes a run for it!

Disease

Disease is a similar thing. The more concerned you get about the body, the less at ease you are — the more dis-ease you create. It’s odd, if you don’t care about the body, then the dis-ease disappears. But if you care about the body then the dis-ease persists.

Now on to Bob

One initiate of Guru Siyag is Bob. He called me and said that “nothing was happening” in his meditation. Well, for him to know nothing was happening, he would have to sample a moment in time, evaluate it and then sample another moment and compare them. I once was told, and firmly agree, that real meditation is pure experience. Pure experience. No evaluation. No complaining. No expectation.

YOU dont need to use your body to do this system

I woke up a day or two ago and realized that my body has built-in programming – it breathes by itself, walks by itself, thinks by itself, etc. My dream body is quite good at doing things without me getting involved.

*I* just want to have a hissy fit over this waking state body.

So, interestingly, I now have two neat things to do:

While the body is doing it’s survival gig in waking state, I let it do it. *I* repeat the secret mantra, just keeping a light awareness over the body.

And, during meditation, well I just plop the ol’ body down and pay attention to it’s third eye and *I* do the meditation as instructed. Repeating the mantra does not require any body use whatsoever — the instructions state that. The visualization does not require use of the physical eyes at all.

We focus on the body’s 10th door and we do this purely spiritual practice. And odd things happen in the body as a result. I just felt some pain in my back several times. And each time I had a hissy fit over the body and lost my focus — fell down into the Earth and back into the ol’ meat body!

But over time, I shall win. And it wont take long.

Hear the guru’s face

When you visualize the guru’s image, the mantra is not a different thing. The mantra is an audio representation of what you are seeing!

Be sure you are truly focused at the 3rd eye

Dont make the mistake of looking straight ahead.. or down. Keep your focus in the genuine spiritual realm.
