Self-inquiry, Siddha Yoga style
As a Siddha Yogi, I have made a choice to be master and knower of ALL: anywhere, anytime, anything.
So, in this hotel, where there are noises and other things hampering my concentration, you can inquire: what is the spiritual source of this. And remain in the spiritual realm without fail.
And then when the pleasing temporary spiritual sensations come along, you can push them aside as well with the same inquiry.
GO TO THE SOURCE, LukE! The Source!!!
Energy Conservation
This meditation system is awesome. I literally did NOTHING this time and had the most transcendantal experience. But of course that also makes the most sense. What could you do physically, or even energetically, or even mentally and get great results:
THE HIGHER CONTROLS THE LOWER – your body, energy, and mind are _NOTHING_ from the perspective of the ultimate.
The secret mantra is to be recited without moving lips or tongue.
This is most important. It’s also to be recited without moving _ANY_ of your lower vehicles.
Energy Conservation
THe more I do this meditation, the more I am convinced that I dont need certain things. I used to be crazy for women, but now I realize that most of that is nothing but a waste of energy.
each syllable is a chance to extend your thread of concentration
We have tendencies. And we fall into them on a sub-second interval. So, even though we are supposed to repeat the mantra and visualize the image, I know personally that after one syllable of the mantra, my visualization has deteriorated.
Let each syllable of the mantra be a cue for you to re-establish the image of Gurudev at the 10th door.
For the 10th door is your Stairway to Holiest of Holies!
Connect to the image of the guru using your 7th layer
You are not physically looking at a physical image of the guru at your third eye. Ideally, you are using the deepest layer of your being to connect to the deepest layer of the Guru.
it is “difficult” to complete one round of the mantra entirely spiritually
As unlimited spiritual beings, we have grown accustomed to physical limitations. We think that any doing must have some sort of feedback in the physical and that we must act to survive on any stimulus we get in the physical.
So ingrained are these limiting tendencies that it is difficult to remain in the spiritual realm for even one round of the mantra.
Put concerted “effort” into getting even one round done exactly as the instructions say:
- repeat the mantra
- no movement of lips or tongue
- focus on the image of Guru Siyag AT THE THIRD EYE
totality, unlimited power
as the light presses in, remain in the World of Spirit — meaning, the realm of Infinite Possibilities. Regardless of what survival urges pull your attention downward, stay plugged into The Source.
god is infinite — thinking tries to discretize
Sant Balajit Singh, current lineage holder descended from Sant Thakar Singh, said something very wise:
God is infinite. Any attempt to limit or define God is a mistake.
Kane Mantyla of Floatmatrix, had a similar thing to say:
once you think about something, you limit it and start thinking about it.
In this meditation, we are aiming for God realization. Of course “aiming” is a wrong word… you can’t hit the bullseye. Because if you did, you would be stuck at a particular place/idea, and that would be limiting God… a big no no.
So, you repeat the mantra but of course you are doing it with no idea what’s coming your way.
And that is one of the best things about this practice – it is dynamic and completely unpredictable.
rising to meet the energy
In our continuing dialogue on surrender, a phrase from my friend Oceana comes to mind: “rise to meet the energy, dont dictate the flow”.
Now an important thing. Instead of rising to meet the energy at the physical body with your physical senses, use the “softer” aspects of your being — even a thought is too coarse for what you are trying to meet, for a thought is your manomaya kosha.
10th door is inward. look for guidance. keep chanting
10th door is inward.
An easy mistake in this practice is to do the technique but look with expectations through the 9 doors. In other words, this practice is designed for interior development, and we can become frustrated if we dont see gains in the outer world through our 9 doors.
look for guidance.
You took initiation from Guru Siyag because you think he knows more — much more about spiritual science than you. When you meditate, it makes no sense to sit there trying to do things and know things. If you had any such ability, then why did you take initiation? Approach this meditation with the attitude of needing guidance.
keep chanting
it is very easy to fall into deep bliss quickly with this technique. But keep chanting. Keep the mother force on her journey home.
the Mantra is really the key
More Wisdom from Senior Student Jui Pagedar:
Gurudev says the Mantra is really the key. Once you realize that the photo is really a symbol of the energy that is behind it, you don’t need to use it each time you meditate. Chanting the mantra “around-the-clock” is really really beneficial.
Here I’d also like to add that from experience I have seen that if the Mantra is chanted with greater emotion, the state of “Ajapajap” is almost immediate.
But of course, I have also seen that although Gurudev’s method is the same the way that each disciple uses the method to achieve consciousness is entirely different.
