Siddhis are a hot topic for some spiritual seekers. They were for me for a long time. In this post, we read the words of Zui on this subject:
The ultimate aim of Guru Siyag's Siddha Yoga, as mentioned on his website www.the-comforter.org, is the spiritual upliftment of mankind. With this lofty goal in sight, Guru Siyag speaks of the enlightenment and complete evolution of the final three stages of consciousness (also known as "Kosha" in sanskrit): Anand (Bliss), Chit (Becoming) and Sat (Being). The Siddhis that you mention lie below these three levels. Though many of Guru Siyag's disciples, including me, acquire Siddhis, we DO NOT become attached to them. This means that we do not try to hold on to them and make an exhibition of these powers. Guru Siyag warns us that doing so would hinder our progress. By becoming attached to a Siddhi, we would limit ourselves only to that particular state of consciousness and not evolve further. He suggests that these are just mere reminders of the immense and eternal energy and light that we are. On the path of realization we discover many precious stones. But if we get attached to only one stone we will never be able to discover the vast treasure that lies ahead. On his part, Guru Siyag too, does not exhibit his Siddhis. So to answer your question: Yes, I do have Siddhis. I have been practicing Guru Siyag's Siddha Yoga (which awakens the Kundalini) for the past 8 years. Here, I would like to add that though I have Siddhis, I NEVER make use of them. Certain Siddhis manifest themselves involuntarily by the Supreme Shakti's command. I, as an individual, do not have a play in it.
My perspective
I have no siddhis as of yet. But I sure am ready to run my mouth on the subject:
I think Guru Siyag hints at his power. If you look at his 15-year record of healing incurable diseases, it is a sign of tremendous power. From what I understand, you could goto India and meet some students who demonstrate some common siddhis. However, all attempts to record levitation have resulted in the camera failing. I have asked many groups about Siddhis in my spiritual search. Some dont have them and try to downplay it. These are the weak groups who are not tapped into unlimited power. Others are tapped in but mis-use them. Others (like our system) have them but have goals beyond the limited life span of this body. I think Siddhis are wonderful way to show that you are truly on a powerful path and I am glad that my colleagues in this system have them. But at the same time, I think the mission of this group is a great and useful one. And dont forget the last thing Zui said: this path is one of surrender, not will. We are turning this body over to higher powers for it to use as it sees fit.
